These guys are excellent teachers! They’re not engaging, clear, and thorough — the trifecta of teaching talents. The tricks themselves are all pretty great, and the toolbox is so very helpful. “Self working,” and, “no difficult slights” are two of my favorite phrases in trick descriptions. This checks all the boxes.

Card Memorization is one of those tricks that sounds way cooler on paper than it ends up being in performance. The premise is awesome: the magician glances at a shuffled deck and somehow remembers the exact order, or instantly knows which card is missing. It gives off major genius vibes—like Sherlock Holmes with a deck of cards.

But once you dig a little deeper (or even just guess how it's done), the magic starts to fade. The method is surprisingly basic, relying more on a simple system than any real memory feat. It’s one of those tricks where the magician seems like a mental titan, but the secret is more about setup than skill.

That said, it’s not a bad trick. When performed smoothly and with confidence, it still gets solid reactions, especially from people who haven’t seen much magic. It has that “how did you do that?” moment if the audience buys into the story. But for anyone familiar with card tricks—or just a little skeptical—it comes off as more of a clever puzzle than a mind-blower.

Bottom line: A decent trick that leans on presentation. Simple, slick, and satisfying for some… but not quite the miracle it wants to be.
